Ideas for Gardens

Willing to contribute photos for display on this site? We, and our regular visitors and contributors would very much appreciate your help in making this focal point for discerning gardeners a success. The emphasis here is on plants in a garden environment, not in their natural location. A snap of that one in your garden would be very much appreciated. Please give as much detail as you can about the plant and the photo.

Camellia x williamsii ‘Donation’

Grown by:- George Kelly

Location:- Co Down,  N Ireland

Season/Date taken:- Spring 25th April 2001

Photo Reference:- IGCC0003

Here it is, warts and all. I’ve left the damaged blooms in place for this photo. Donation is one of the first camellias to bloom. The x williamsii varieties are reputed to be the hardiest. At its feet, bottom left, some late blooms on a  Helloborus niger , the so called Christmas rose! Variegated Lamium and Bergenia in the foreground.
