Working with Folder Views
You have a number of options to choose how to display folders and files using Windows Explorer. This screenshot shows how folders are displayed when display option is Icons
This screenshot shows the options under the View tab It also shows ho to change to Details
view mode
Most of the screenshots in this Guide will be in Details mode
The setting you select under View will apply to the current folder only.
To follow this Guide, you can change another setting so that all folders have the same View setting Two screenshots follow to show how to do that. Screenshot WWF-024 - Choosing Folder Options from the Tools tab on the menu
Screenshot WWF-026 - Apply to all folders
This step applies the settings made above to all folders Note that we made two other settings in this screen:
- Turn Show hidden files and folders ON
The core data folder for all our software is located in a folder under your User Profile. To navigate to the
core data folder, you must open the Local Settings folder, under your user profile. Local Settings is is a hidden folder. This setting (when saved) will allow you to
open it and naviget down the sub-folders to the Core Data folder. This will be explained later in this User Guide
- Uncheck Hide extensions for known file types
This setting will remove ambiguity and allow you to make sensible decisions when you are working with files.
